Product Description
Coretech Sleeping bags are designed off a very simple principle, keep your core warm and your warmth will circulate through your body. It is the same reason you were a winter jacket and not a bodysuit. Putting this 3rd layer only in the core area also lets you get more warmth with less total insulation in the bag. Don't pack around the extra weight, warm your core.

This is the second sleeping bag I have from Northstar, and as much as I liked the old one, THIS is now my bag. First off, it is a big, thick bag that works better than any bag I have had at keeping the bottom side warm on an air mattress. I use a full size air mattress for my back, and in colder weather, they get cold! Normally I need to have a blanket between my bag and the mattress, but with this bag, I don't. That is an entire thick blanket I don't have to take with me... It also has a thick, additional layer that covers your upper body, which somehow manages to keep you warm without overheating you. My feet even stayed warm in this bag, and that was a pleasant surprise. The hood works as both a hood, and also fits my camp pillow, holding it right where it needs to be. Seeing as how I don't bring a headboard, that was pretty cool!This is not a backpacker's bag. It has a substantial feel without being heavy, which I like better than the ultra-light bags that feel like nothing is over you. Despite the substantial insulation, it stuffs into its stuff sack easily, and compresses smaller than I would have thought. Believe me, once you feel this thing after it has been laid out and filled with air, you won't believe it fits back into that bag!Other little features it has are a pocket for wallet and phone, which is so much better than the wallet drifting around your feet than many of you will remember. It also has a strip of insulated fabric sewn across the chest area that works as an additional seal to keep heat in the bag. This was something new I have never seen before, and it really does seem to help. With all the bags I have had, and with all the bag shopping I have done, I would honestly expect to pay a lot more for this bag. If I had paid $100, I would have felt I more than got my money's worth. I am not one to rant and rave about everyday items, but I really love this bag! I bought this bag for use later this winter in hopes of doing some of my first cold weather camping, and I'm definitely happy with the purchase!I live in oregon and there are a lot of amazing spots but I have not taken advantage of them in the winter.I took it for a spin up in some back country on Mt. Hood this last week (where it's been getting to the low 20s at night. I tend to get pretty cold.) and it was great!It's well comfortable (the filling is so thick it gives for a nice bit of extra padding all around). The zipper is surprisingly smooth with a big loop/handle for easy use. The drawstring at the opening goes all the way around to get you nice and tucked in. I bought the large and am 6'1" and it had a good amount of room for movement. Most of all it kept me warm head to toe! And I am confident it would in even colder temperatures.My only gripe is when tightened all the way the edge that the drawstring lies in rest on your forehead and its a little uncomfortable but by no means a large gripe.All in all I'm definitely happy with the bag. I would buy it again and would recommend it to a friend!Hope this helps. Happy camping!
